Hands-on quality work at Corbion
Daniel sampled hundreds of HPLC panels, performed dry-weight calculations, sterilized media, transferred sterile material in a laminar-flow hood, prepared assemblies for bioreactor processing, sampled and tested broth, plated microbial cultures, and evaluated morphology at multiple process steps.
He also worked with Master Batch Records, maintained laboratory and storeroom cleanliness, rearranged spaces to reduce contamination risk, and helped troubleshoot analytical instruments. He maintained a zero-contamination record across his work, including test vessels.

Projects around accessible experimentation
Related projects include a hydroponic plant-growth recording system, a low-cost controlled-dosage peristaltic pump, and laboratory lot, sample, and SOP tracking software. Each addresses a different barrier to reliable experimentation: measurement, fluid control, or documentation.

Quality is a connected system
Reliable laboratory output depends on more than one analytical result. Sample identity, preparation, sterile handling, instrument condition, calibration, environmental control, record completion, and response to an abnormal result all affect whether a finding can be trusted.
Daniel’s laboratory and software interests meet at that boundary. Structured lot and SOP records can improve traceability, while low-cost instrumentation can widen access to experiments. Neither replaces method validation, appropriate controls, trained review, or the safety requirements of the laboratory using it.
